Federal Agencies to Discuss Projects and Processes in Tacoma
AGC and the Oles Morrison Law Firm have come together to offer a free and very informative federal contracting seminar. The seminar will be held on June 30th from 2pm-4pm at AGC’s Tacoma office 942 Pacific Ave.
Come hear from the people who will be responsible for administering the new federal dollars from the Corps of Engineers and the General Services Administration. Learn about how these agencies will allocate funds across their organizations find out what projects will be funded this year and learn about the bidding process from the people who will evaluate your bids. In addition attorneys from Oles Morrison will provide timely and important information to help both novice and experienced contractors become more successful in bidding on these new projects.
Speakers and topics include:
• Representatives from the US General Services Administration. These individuals will present an overview of the stimulus funded programs that will be funded by GSA this year and information on where to find those opportunities. They will also discuss the procurement process and philosophy of their organization.
• Cheryl Anderson the new Deputy Regional Contracting Chief for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Ms. Anderson will provide information about upcoming stimulus-funded Corps construction projects provide future bidders with important information regarding how the Corps bid review process works and how to make your bids more responsive and stronger.
• James F. Nagle Partner at Oles Morrison will provide his insight on the “must knows” before jumping into a federal contract. Mr. Nagle is a former chief of the Logistics and Contract Law Branch of the Department of the Army staff. He also served as a trial team chief in the Armys Contract Appeals Division.
• Jonathan DeMella Associate at Oles Morrison will talk about Federal Contracting 101 providing basic information that every potential bidder for federal work must know to be successful. Mr. DeMella has considerable experience assisting contractors involved in disputes with the Federal Government and has counseled clients in many areas of construction and government contract law.
