AGC: THANK YOU Members for Your Legislative Support!
Seven thousand one hundred and thirty five. Thats how many email messages went to legislators from AGC members a record by all accounts! AGC sent action alerts to members about 11 different bills in 2009 and AGCs position prevailed eight times - a 72 percent success rate and a testament to the power of grassroots involvement! AGC thanks all those who responded to the alerts and particularly appreciates the time taken by scores of members who travelled to Olympia this year to testify in person or to participate in AGCs Lobby Day. There is little doubt that the voice of individual AGC members was a primary factor in the successes the industry had such as passage of unemployment insurance and transportation bills and the defeat of unnecessary regulatory legislation such as the Retro bill.
