Enforcement of Electrical Inspections for Tower Cranes Expected
Many cities will now start to enforce a law regarding electrical inspections and tower cranes that has been on the books for years. The Department of Labor and Industries and the cities that have electrical jurisdiction recently determined that enforcement had fallen through the cracks due to overlapping jurisdictional issues. More than 60 AGC members met with the departments electrical and safety programs last week to discuss the recent changes and the effects it would have on the industry. The department outlined the requirements and timelines; see attached document for details. In addition AGC plans to schedule a separate discussion with the cities.
