IMCO hosts BHS students at Lynden jobsite

AGC of Washington was pleased to partner with IMCO General Construction and Bellingham High School for a Lunch with the Crew and jobsite tour event on March 20th. IMCO superintendent Joe Lupo and his crew hosted eight lucky Bellingham High School students at IMCOs wastewater treatment plant expansion project in Lynden.

Some of the crew explained the importance of math and how they use it in their jobs; others talked about the importance of teamwork and a “get the job done” attitude. Students also learned how people entered the workforce and made a career out of construction. Before the jobsite tour Lupo gave everyone a safety briefing and a brief description of the project. As students toured the 38% completed site they were able to see how a project comes together the different trades involved and how jobsite organization can make or break a profit margin.

After the tour IMCO generously provided t-shirts for all the students and encouraged them to consider construction as a career. The event was a big hit with the students and thanks again to IMCO Joe Lupo and his outstanding crew!
