AGC 2014 Annual Convention highlights

AGC of Washington once again featured a wide range of events and happenings at its day-long annual convention at the Seattle Four Seasons Hotel on January 24. These included the convention’s kick-off luncheon with guest speaker Jeff Shoaf AGC of America’s Senior Executive Director for Government Affairs; Hans Zeiger accepting the AGC’s Legislator of the Year award and a salute to Leaders of BUILD PAC AGC’s political-action body for their outstanding support.

Additionally AGC recognized a number of firms for their fifty and twenty-five year milestones as AGC members. Twenty-five year members included

Following the kick-off luncheon breakout sessions featured insights on a range of topics from notable industry members. Among these were Washington’s Best Places to Work presented by Gordon Prouty of the Puget Sound Business Journal; Delivering a Stand-Out Customer Experience presented by Cynthia Paul of FMI Corporation; The Intelligent Jobsite presented by Wayne Newitts of Dexter+Chaney and Beyond ObamaCare: How the Changing Tide of our Healthcare System will Drive Your Business Decisions presented by Don Brunell of the Association of Washington Business.

The event also included installment of AGC’s officers for 2014 an extended happy hour that showcased northwest cheese chocolate beer and spirits artisans and an evening dinner with keynote speaker Howard Behar past president of Starbucks Coffee International and author of It’s Not About the Coffee: Lessons on Putting People First from a Life at Starbucks.
