Imhof Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award
Frank Imhof founder and president of IMCO General Construction was named Northwest Business Monthly’s “2012 Lifetime Achievement” Honoree at the 26th Annual Whatcom County Business Person of the Year Awards Dinner. The event was at the Inn at Semiahmoo on March 28.
Gerald Baron prominent Bellingham businessperson and friend of the Imhofs presented the award to Frank with a heartfelt introduction: “Many who run into Frank in meetings or business dealings know him as a no-nonsense guy exceptionally plain-spoken often 
gruff and even occasionally outspoken and opinionated—especially on political issues. But he matches these opinions with action—with personal commitment with generous contributions with whatever help he can give. I have met very few people with the generosity of spirit and tender heart the capacity for love and loyalty of Frank Imhof.”
The evening was emceed by NW Business Monthly Publisher Tony Larson and sponsored by Whidbey Island Bank Larson Gross Comcast and Dawson Construction. Business Person of the Year awards were also given for “Start-up Business of the Year” (Infusion Solutions) “Small Business of the Year” (Chuckanut Bay Foods) and “Business Person of the Year” (Jeff Kochman Barkley Co.).
Frank is quoted in this month’s NW Business Monthly Magazine: “Most of all I attribute who I am and what I’ve achieved to the people in my life. I also know I have been lucky in life; lucky to have great people around me good health a great place to live and many opportunities. IMCO has an outstanding group of people. The pride they take in their work and their commitment to safety quality and integrity is remarkable. I love what I do and whom I work with. It’s fun challenging and rewarding for me to go to work.”
Frank Imhof was the recipient of AGC of Washingtons “Contractor of the Year” award in 2010. IMCO has attained the second best safety record in the state of Washington for 2012 and uses the most cutting edge and innovative technology on their projects. Frank and Patti Imhof are both heavily involved in community organizations throughout Whatcom County. Currently Frank Imhof is the president of the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board. IMCO General Construction is an industry leader in heavy civil construction specializing in energy and industrial marine infrastructure transportation and water/wastewater treatment facility projects.
