Action Needed Now on Capital Projects Bill

Your immediate action is needed. Please send a message NOW to let your Senator and Representatives know that you want them to vote YES to make needed capital investments create jobs and jump-start economic recovery.

The Legislature is scheduled to adjourn by mid-night tomorrow (March 8) and indications are that Operating Budget negotiations are getting close to agreement. If so the infrastructure-jobs package won’t be far behind. A major AGC priority for the 2012 Legislative Session has been a job-creating capital projects proposal which if enacted could generate 20000 jobs and speed the undertaking of scores of public projects such as sewers schools and community college classrooms and labs and a variety of vertical and horizontal projects across the state. These are real investments that will have long-term benefits to our communities and economy.

Negotiators are still working out the details but now is the time to urge your Legislators to support the proposal regardless of whether the package is a Senate or House bill.
