Teamsters Ratify Agreement
By Doug Peterson AGC’s Director of Labor Relations. The Teamsters ratified a two-year agreement that calls for an increase of $0.50 in the employer’s contribution to the Health Plan over the life of the agreement -- $0.25 effective upon ratification of the contract (May 1 2011) and $0.25 effective Jan. 1 2012. The Private Works addendum will be lowered from 90% to 85% of wages with no “me too” clause and a $4 million cap on the project size of contractor signatory to this agreement. In addition to the employers’ May 1 increase $0.87 per hour will be diverted from wages and added to the Health contribution. Effective May 1 2011 the Health contribution will be $8.42 per hour. On Jan. 1 2012 should the Health Plan need more than the $0.25 increase from the employers such increases shall be diverted from the employee wages. Click Wage and Fringe summaries for more info.
