Labor Update: Negotiations with Laborers and Teamsters Continue

The 2010 labor negotiations continue into October. The labor contracts for the five basic crafts Carpenters Cement Masons Laborers Operating Engineers and Teamsters were up for negotiations this year. The anniversary date for the labor agreements was May 31 2010. The Carpenters Cement Masons Laborers and Teamsters ended their third year of a five-year agreement and were open for wages and fringe benefit contributions only. The Operating Engineers were finishing a three agreement and were up for full negotiations.

The Carpenters Cement Masons and Operating Engineers have all agreed to a two-year freeze of wages and fringe benefit contributions with no change in contract language. The Laborers and Teamster negotiations are still underway. The wage and fringe packages effective June 1 2009 are still in effect for the Laborers and Teamsters until negotiations are completed. Meetings with Laborers and Teamsters are being schedule for October.
