Career Day: Building a Better Climate for Construction

This October approximately 800-1000 high school students will attend the King County Construction Career Day at Seattles Magnuson Park.

This event will be a two day extravaganza of all things construction. Students will be able to participate in three different sections each meant to educate the students about the amazing opportunities construction workers have and the different trades that are available. In the outdoor section these students will be able to operate equipment such as bobcats scissor lifts mini-excavators and cranes. Students will also be given rides in personnel lifts by industry professionals. In the main hangar of the former Navy facility students will get hands-on training such as smoothing concrete molding plaster bending pipe tying knots and operating surveying equipment. The third section is a tour of the UWs virtual construction lab where the UW students will tell them about building information modeling and how buildings are put together.

If your company would like to become a sponsor or exhibitor for this event please check out the King County Construction Career Day page.
