Is Card Check Legislation Back from the Grave?
So-called card check legislation which would take away workers’ right to a secret ballot regarding unionization was thought to be dead. However a strategy may be in the works to pass it during a lame-duck congressional session. According to a Wall Street Journal opinion piece “Party leaders are planning an ambitious lame-duck session to muscle through bills in December they dont want to defend before November. Retiring or defeated members of Congress would then be able to vote for sweeping legislation without any fear of voter retaliation.” Click card check for full WSJ article.
