Pat McGarry Named Maritime Person of the Year

The Puget Sound Ports Council honored Pat McGarry Vice President of Manson Construction Co. as Maritime Person of the Year. The award was presented May 20 at the Catholic Seaman’s Club in Seattle.

Pete Paup Manson’s Board Chairman introduced Pat at the event and described Pat’s career at the firm. Pat started at Manson in 1968 working aboard the company’s tugs and crane barges. In 1984 Pat helped opened Manson’s first remote office in San Francisco and in 1991 became Vice President with responsibility for all of Manson’s Northwest Alaska and International work.

Pat serves on the Boards of the Seattle Marine Business Coalition and the Manufacturing Industrial Council and serves on the advisory committees for the King County South Park Bridge Project and Royal Victoria Yacht Club Construction Committee. Pat is also First Vice President of AGC and he has served on the AGC’s Property Committee and Carpenter and Operators Negotiating Committee.
