AGC Clarifies TI Language in Licensing Law
Legislation to update many aspects of Architecture licensing law includes a provision expanding requirements to use architects for projects from the current language of “4000 sq. ft. of construction” to any work in buildings of “4000 sq. ft. of building size.” AGC opposed this provision and successfully added an amendment to the House bill allowing projects up to 4000 sq ft. to be completed without architect drawings if they do not impact the structure or life safety system of the building. The same amendment is expected to be attached to the Senate version.
