What’s a PTAC/APEX Accelerator -- and How Can my Construction Firm Benefit?

PTAC/APEX accelerators are an essential resource for businesses looking to grow through government contracting. Services are offered at no cost and can provide significant value to businesses of all sizes and types.
Join AGC on May 3rd and learn how to connect with your local PTAC/APEX accelerator and what resources are available to help primes, subs and suppliers succeed on government contracts.

This year, PTAC offered an educational series for contractors throughout Washington State on public-works contracting. This training focused on contractors with little to no experience with public works through a ten-part virtual series covering the statutory requirements, accounting principles, bonding, insurance and bidding processes. The series provided tools, tips, resources and strategies to get started with public-works contracting.

Primary services offered by PTAC/APEX accelerators
1. Training and Education: PTACs provide training and education on a wide range of topics related to government contracting, including how to identify and respond to government opportunities, how to register in government procurement systems, how to create effective marketing strategies, and how to manage contracts successfully.
2. Bid Matching: PTACs help businesses identify and respond to government opportunities which match their capabilities and expertise.
3. Contracting Assistance: PTACs offer guidance and assistance throughout the contracting process, from identifying opportunities and submitting bids to negotiating contracts and complying with regulations.
4. Networking: PTACs provide opportunities for businesses to network with other contractors and government officials, as well as access to industry events and conferences.
5. Technical Assistance: PTACs offer technical assistance to businesses needing help with specific aspects of government contracting, such as being responsible and responsive when responding to bids and solicitations, cybersecurity and small business certifications.
