AGCW Legislative Huddle (weekly through March 10)

Add to Calendar

AGC of Washington's Legislative Huddle meetings will start on Thursday, January 13
at 7:30 and will be weekly until the end of session on March 10. We will be holding these meetings virtually, via Teams again in 2022, as last year we had record participation using this platform. An Outlook calendar invite with the link to the meetings will be sent to all who sign-up (contact Michele Willms at mwillms@agcwa.com), along with the agenda, any meeting materials and the bill-tracking list. If there are any bills you would like to discuss, please let Michele know.

Just a reminder that the 2022 legislative session is a 60-day session, which means things will happen rapidly. Indications are that all legislative committees will be meeting virtually again in 2022. The upside is that it is very easy for you to testify on bills right from your office. As of now, the Senate will be meeting in-person on the floor to vote, and the House will be a hybrid with only a limited number on the House floor and the others will be remote.

Here are ways you and others from your company can get involved and make your voices heard:

Write your Legislator: Legislative alerts are a key tool used by legislators to understand how specific legislation affects their constituents. Your personal messages to legislators leverage AGC staff efforts. We have made it easy for you to express your views with just a few mouse-clicks. We provide you a letter you can send as-is or personalize. Contact Michele to receive our Action Alerts, and share this link with others in your company.

Testify: Share your story! You are the most influential and effective voice for our legislators. Interested but not sure what do to? Your Government Affairs staff will develop talking points and help you prepare and deliver your testimony at legislative committee hearings. Our lobbying efforts are strengthened with your voice!

For more information, again, please email Michele Willms at mwillms@agcwa.com.
